We are pleased to invite you to pilot test, the new version of ELGG at Athabasca University- re christened as Athabasca Landing (the name of the original community at Athabasca town site).
The new version offers a much cleaner interface and more features. It retains the same selective privacy controls as Me2U. You will be asked to review privacy and terms of use policies when you make your first login at the Landing. The Landing is accessed at http://landing.athabascau.ca and you sign on using your normal Athabasca login and password.
We have taken the liberty of mirroring user data from Me2U to the Landing. Most of the data except bookmarks and presentations has been copied to the Landing. However the data was captured on Dec. 8, 2009, so anything added to Me2U after that date, must be cut and pasted across to appear on the Landing.
We will NOT be closing down Me2U in the near future. Students who are using the Presentation tool for creating e-portfolios are welcomed to continue using Me2U and all functions and data added to Me2U is still available. Alternatively, you may be interested in creating your e-portfolio using the "pages" feature of the Landing. We are also working on a more full featured e-portfolio tool for the Landing.
If you do not wish to participate on the Landing, please notify us at Landing@athabascau.ca and we will delete your account alternatively you can change privacy settings on all your data on Me2u or the Landing to "private" and it will not be visible to anyone.
We hope that the Landing will be a more effective vehicle for building and sustaining our community at Athabasca. Please feel free to explore the Landing, invite Athabasca friends, add content and provide your feedback and suggestions.
